Painting en plein air

U3A artists were in action at this year's RFDS Spring Art and Garden Fair at the Lakeside Railway, Melrose Park. Members had again agreed to paint en plein air, setting up their easels in the open, subject to the scrutiny and commentary of all comers.

Burra Artists join U3A

A long-established group of Burra artists have come under the U3A Lower North banner so now members have a choice of painting with the Auburn group or Burra . . . or for true artoholics they can choose both. Auburn meets weekly on Wednesdays and Burra meets monthly on every second Tuesday, February to November.

Quilts take over the pews to create cosy church

The U3A Quilting Group members held an exhibition of their work in St Barnabas’ Church in 2017. The quilts made a dramatic display draped over the backs of the pews. All proceeds went to church charities but putting our organisation in front of the public in such a positive manner was invaluable promotion for U3A.
